Alexandria holds a BM in Violin Performance and Performers Certificate in Baroque Performance Practice from the Eastman School of Music (Summa Cum Laude) where she studied with Prof. Renee Jolles. She is currently pursuing her Masters at the University of Michigan where she studies with Prof. Aaron Berofsky. Passionate about collaboration, Alexandria has served as a leader in numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras. At Eastman, she served as concertmaster for both the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra and Eastman Philharmonia. She was also a co-leader for Eastman Collegium, the school’s baroque chamber orchestra. In summer 2019, she was a Violin Fellow at Music Academy of the West where she participated in the String Quartet Seminar and coached daily with the world-renowned Takacs Quartet. She has performed in many other string quartets and chamber ensembles, including a piano quartet at Eastman that was selected by audition to perform for the prestigious Honors Recital. Other summer festivals she has attended include the Chautauqua Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Masterworks Festival. As a soloist she won the Cordancia Concerto Competition (2016), the Ruth and Sidney Salzman Prize for Strings (Rochester Philharmonic League Young Artist Auditions 2016), and the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition (2015). She has performed in masterclasses for Ida Kavafian, Jorja Fleezanis, Jennifer Koh, and Rachel Barton Pine. As a teacher, Alexandria has established and maintained a private violin studio in Rochester NY. She works with beginners and advanced students, and can teach violin technique along with music theory and reading skills. She specializes in classical and baroque techniques, but is also comfortable teaching fiddle, pop, and improvisation skills.
