Isabel Aronin is a violist from Bethesda, Maryland. She began her musical journey on the violin at age 4 and transitioned to viola at 7. In 2024, she earned her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, studying under Kirsten Docter. Isabel is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Viola Performance at the University of Michigan, where she studies with Caroline Coade and serves as the principal violist of the University Symphony Orchestra. In her undergraduate years, Isabel was involved in several orchestral ensembles, including the Oberlin Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Contemporary Music Ensemble, and Oberlin Sinfonietta, where she had the honor of serving as principal for multiple concerts. Notably, she performed at Carnegie Hall with the Oberlin Orchestra in December 2022 and January 2023. During high school, Isabel was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship, studying with Tsuna Sakamoto and Jennifer Mondie. Her summer experiences include programs at the Aspen Music Festival, Round Top Festival Institute, the Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center, Interlochen, and string programs at the Universities of Michigan, Maryland, and Indiana. In addition to her primary instructors, Isabel has had the privilege of studying with notable musicians such as Jeffrey Irvine, Ayane Kozasa, Lawrence Dutton, Roger Myers, Susan Dubois, Brett Deubner, Christiano Rodriguez, Daniel Foster, and Bill Foster.
